INCONE60 - ePIcenter cooperation

The international waterway E60 runs from Gibraltar to the north along the coast, reaching as far as Arkhangelsk. Northern Sea transport could not be analysed without considering the importance of Arctic routes and their impact on the global economy and worldwide shipping network. ePIcenter also puts its focus on Arctic Routes transportation. Therefore, the research area of this initiative is in complete synergy with the INCONE60 project creating even more impact possibilities. The Northern Sea Route, part of the Northeast Passage, the only route currently used for commercial transport, is most crucial from the perspective of INCONE60 – ePIcenter implementation. Therefore, part of the Arctic Route has been added to the INCONE60 model.

The figure below shows the area of implemented INCONE60model for the selected part within the Arctic Route.

INCONE60 research complements the work on ePIcenter's ePIGEN Living Toolset, which integrates existing tools and solutions, e.g., from the other projects such as SYNCHRO-NET and EUROSKY, a flexible optimisation architecture to ensure interoperability in the ePIGEN. INCONE60 Model's results and innovations are currently being exploited by ePIcenter while collaboration between ongoing projects INCONE60 and ePIcenter marks the perfect practical example of cooperation of initiatives under two different funding programmes: Interreg South-Baltic Programme and Horizon2020.

Both projects also focus on reshaping global shipping transport, which creates an essential link between INCONE60 and ePIcenter projects.

INCONE60 Cargo Flow Model has been updated to the ePIcenter project needs, with an option for future commercialisation. It would be open for tests by ePIcenter Partners and relevant stakeholders.
